Presentation types

Dear VPO Attendees, below please find information on the specifics of the three presentation types:

  • The “talk/lecture” is a 12 minute oral presentation followed by a 3 minute Q&A session. You need to prepare a slide deck for presenting in front of an audience.
  • The “poster” presentation is a more personal presentation type where you prepare an A0-size vertical poster and explain it to other Attendees during a poster session of 1 hour followed by a coffee break.
  • “The “show and tell” presentation is similar to a talk presentation, but in addition, you demonstrate the use of an instrument, or recreate an experiment or other demonstration to explain the science. The Organizing Committee will reach out to all Attendees who select this presentation type to help with arrangements.”
  • The 1 minute “rapid fire poster” presentation is similar to a rapid startup elevator pitch which needs to be delivered with high energy and clarity in up to 1 minute. Authors are free to prepare simplified versions of their posters that should be 2×3 (vertical) aspect ratio and optimized for display on a projector screen.
